By Apostle William Korir

God made man in his image. The man was perfect and holy. God gave man free moral agency and power to choose his own destiny. But man disobeyed God and fell into sin and brought suffering to planet earth. Read on....

Man tempted by Satan in the Garden of Eden

Ge 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"

Eve responds to Satan's inquiry

 2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;

3 "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'"

Satan lied to the couple and misled them

4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.

5 "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Eve & Adam persuaded and ate the forbidden fruit

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

God's glory departed and the couple felt different, naked and exposed

7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

God arrived in the Garden as usual but the couple were out of sight

8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"

10 So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."

God's judgement & Plan of Salvation

11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?"

12 Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate."

13 And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

14 So the LORD God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.

God's promise of restoration through death and Resurrection of Jesus

15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."

16 To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you."

God cursed the ground for Adam to eat through sweat

17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': "Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life.

18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field.

19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return."

20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.

21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.

22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever" -

23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.

Adam and Eve expelled out of Eden and God placed the Cherubim to guard the tree of life.

24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. (NKJV).

Following the creation of a perfect world God placed Man made in His own image in the garden of Eden to rule the world and all its hosts. God had instructed Adam to eat for food all fruits in the garden safe for fruits of one tree which was located in the middle of the garden. There were two trees in the middle of the garden - the tree of life and another tree - the tree of knowledge of  God and Evil. God did not allow Adam's family to eat the fruits of the tree of knowledge of good and bad.

Satan entered the snake and tempted the family who ate the forbidden fruit and commit a horrible sin which separated them from God. Adam and Eve lost God's glory and in their fallen nature could not face God again so they hid themselves in the shrubs.

When God commands us to live in holiness, he means well for all of us. God is holy and we should live in holiness all the time.

1Pe 1:15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." (NKJV).

2Co 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (NKJV). 1Ti 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.(NKJV)

HUMILITY IS THE CHRISTIAN WAY

By Apostle William Korir

Jesus taught us how to be humble. God hates arrogant people but exalts the humble. Jesus though being God lived and mingled with the down trodden people of the society. The high and the mighty were not of His class. He walked and interacted with the poor members of the society; the fishermen, the little farmers, adulterous, thieves, the hated and the slighted so that he could bring all in harmony. He won the hearts of many including the mighty - Zacchaeus, Nicodemus, Pilate etc, So we ought to learn this teacher, to teach us how to live with people. Gd hates a proud look - so the next time you look down on people of no stature and spit down - think of what God is viewing your action.

Humility is taking care of the less fortunate, the sick, the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the hungry and so on.....

Jesus said when we take care of these group, we take care of Jesus himself. So as you enjoy your blessings - think of this less fortunate and God will reward you in abundance.

Recently I met some two women in their 20s, and they asked me to pray for them as they felt there was a generational curse following them. They were born by different mothers but by one father. One of the women was 26 while the other was 24. Both had committed abortions and had entered marriage four times but were now divorced. The one aged 24 worked in a Bar in Athi River, but says though she earned kshs 600 (usd.5.5) per day or Kshs. 18,000 per month. She works from 6 a.m. to midnight and beyond, most of her net Salary is is below Kshs. 2000 (Usd. 1.5)per month. This was because the Customers sneaks out of the bar without paying for their bills, and she takes responsibility for the loss. She said that people spent so much in bear giving an example of some spirits selling for Kshs. 1,200 per bottle and that people spent up to Kshs.10,000 a night per person.

These people may spent such huge sums of money and yet their families languish in abject poverty. Satan has captivated them and put them in a form of prison. They need the Spirit of God to set them free.

God is pleased and blesses the humble who direct there energies in gainful activities to benefit the society at large.

OVERCOME EVIL BY DOING GOOD

By Apostle William Korir

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:2 (NKJV). God is Holy and those who worship Him must be Holy. No one who continually commit sin will see or be with God. Galatians 5:19-21 breaks down a sample list of sins committed by people. Ga 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,

21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (NKJV)

People who sin with passion will not go to heaven. The people who commit sin are of the Devil but the righteous people are of God. Jesus came and at the cross, He destroyed the work of Satan and now those born of God by the Holy Spirit have been justified and put on the righteousness of God. 1Jo 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (NKJV)

By Apostle William Korir

The Book of Genesis Chapter 1 paints a picture of God's wonderful creation. Everything Created by God was glorious. People, animals, trees, fruits, scenery, Oceans and Seas all sea and ocean creatures were a wonder to behold. Adam was given authority to reign over all the world and over all the creatures in it.

There was however one condition given to Adam and His descendants to observe in order to live forever in harmony with nature and the creatures in it. Out of all the fruits of the trees in the Garden of Eden give  them for food, there was one tree in the middle of the Garden which they were not to eat of its fruits. It was forbidden - they were commanded not to eat the fruits of that tree. If they did so in disobedience to God command; they shall die.

Genesis 3:1...  Satan (an enemy of God, who had been kicked out of heaven (Revelations 17:7-13) was roaming around on earth (Job 2:2), and entered a snake so he came tempt Adam and Eve. Satan tempted Adam and Eve and they ate the forbidden fruit and lost God's glory and their home in Eden. They were sent away out of their home to live in the wild and God put plans to safe mankind which was fulfilled in the cross. Meanwhile an innocent animal had to die as a stopgap to provide a temporary lifeline to Adam and Eve and their offspring til Jesus Christ come to finish the work of redemption.

Romans 10:9-13 brings this fulfilment and presents a turning point to all unbelievers to receive Jesus and be saved. Choose to follow Jesus and receive eternal life.
